It has support for many different types of I/O engines, I/O priorities (on newer Linux kernels), rate limited I/O, forked or threaded jobs and much more.fio can work on either of block devices or files and accepts job descriptions in a simple-to-understand text format. All sorts of I/O performance information (including IO latencies and percentiles) can be displayed.
